MUWCI students win Young Aurora Prize 2025

Congratulations to The Chulha Project for winning the Young Aurora Prize 2024-2025!

Led by our students Arnav Jain, Gargee Kanade, Leila Guseinova, Medhansh Malhotra, and Pedro Breyner, this incredible initiative aims to address the health risks associated with traditional mud cookstoves in rural communities in Western India by introducing locally made rocket stoves, which cut emissions by 86%, reduce firewood use by 50%, and decrease toxic fumes. This means safer homes and healthier lives for women and children. The team will receive a grant of USD 10,000 grant to bring their vision to life.

A massive shoutout to the other UWC school groups that made it to the finals: Team Taktoon from UWC Dilijan and Team Dandelion from UWC Adriatic. Their commitment to embody the UWC values and further the UWC mission will inspire many more young students to initiate projects for social change.
