IB Diploma Programme

Creating a better world through education

Pursue academic excellence

Engage in a multi-disciplinary IB Programme

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme is a challenging and internationally renowned two-year pre-university programme for students aged 16 to 19.

We provide students with the tools to think independently and critically engage with their academics and the world around them, creating a better world through education. There are 1.4 million IB students in more than 150 countries worldwide.

To earn an IB Diploma, students must complete six subjects: three at higher level (HL) and three at standard level (SL). Additionally, they must undertake an independent research paper called the Extended Essay (EE), complete a course in Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and participate in the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) program, which includes a variety of extracurricular activities.

Subjects offered

Students must select one subject from each of the Groups 1 to 5.

Group 6 subjects are optional, and an additional subject from Groups 1 to 5 can be taken in the place of a Group 6 Arts subject.

We highly encourage students to take a Group 6 subject, as we believe that Arts allow students to develop an appreciation of aesthetics and that all disciplines — including future engineers or economists — can use the lessons learned in an academic approach to art to excel in their careers and their wider lives.

This page is reviewed annually in accordance with the teaching resources available at the college.

Experiential Learning

All students participate in our Triveni Programme, which is at the heart of a MUWCI education and goes beyond fulfilling the IB’s Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) requirements.

Teaching & Learning Support

At MUWCI, we offer robust teaching and learning support, leveraging the expertise of our diverse faculty, which includes experienced career teachers and practitioner-teachers.

Career-Related Programme

Education that goes beyond the classroom

The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) is a framework of international education that incorporates the values of the IB into a unique programme addressing the needs of students engaged in career-related education.

The programme leads to further/higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

MUWCI is a registered IBCP college. We are among the few colleges that share a common philosophy — a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.

We are still in the process of fully implementing the Career-related programme.
