A Week That Brought Us Together: Sports, Culture, and Community at MUWCI

Written by Manish Thapar, Head of Triveni

Our students have had an inspiring and achievement-filled week, one that truly reflects the spirit, resilience, and joy of our community.

Last week, MUWCI participated in the FLAME University competition in Basketball and Swimming. Our girls’ basketball team put up a strong fight, played with heart, and represented MUWCI with immense pride. Though they narrowly missed qualifying for the finals, their performance and teamwork were truly commendable. Congratulations to Nidhi, Jordana, Tulika, Tamara Tuzinde, Daniella Agasaro, Ximena, Simrit, Ingeborg, Tanishka, and Georgie for their hard work and determination!

Our boys’ basketball team went a step further, after a gripping semifinal victory against MIS, MUWCI won the finals against the Sharpshooters Sports Academy! A special shout-out to Tenzin Tsepak, Franklin Harris, Eugen Enqvist (who also received the “Most Valuable Player” award!), Ruhaan Jaiswal, Arya Kinha, Melusi Sibanda, Lhundrup Namgyal Dorji, Yash Veer Pratap Banga, Yuvam, and Sarthak for bringing home this wonderful win.

In swimming, our students shone just as brightly.

  • Aarav Pangasa secured 1st place in both the 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle.
  • Kano Iwate achieved 1st place in the 50m Freestyle and 2nd place in the 50m Breaststroke.
  • Geethika participated with enthusiasm in Freestyle and Breaststroke, showing great spirit and commitment.

Huge congratulations to all three!

It was also a busy and fulfilling week for many of you who joined the day hike to Karla and Bedse Caves and the kayaking trip on the Mula River. A big thank you to the OES team for organising these enriching outdoor experiences.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the MENA Regional Week team for the meaningful TED-style talks, performances, movie night and the vibrant, delicious souk night. Thank you for bringing cultural joy, reflection, and connection to our campus.

We are incredibly proud of each one of you, athletes, artists, performers, organisers, supporters, and cheerleaders. Thank you for creating a week filled with purpose, joy, and togetherness.
