On April 29, 2025, MUWCI’s Akshara team organised a health camp for first- to seventh-grade students in the nearby village to recognise World Health Day (April 7). The aim was to help children learn more about their health, catch any issues early, and suggest further treatment if needed.
Dr. Raveena and her team carried out the checkups. They measured the children’s height and weight to calculate their Body Mass Index (BMI), which gave an idea of their nutritional health. The students also had their eyes and teeth checked and a general health examination.
The doctors spoke to each child to understand how they were feeling—both physically and mentally—and gave them advice based on their needs.
The camp was well received by the students, many of whom were getting such checkups for the first time. It was a small but important step towards making healthcare more accessible and helping the children feel more comfortable talking about their health.
