Our approach to safeguarding
Proactive, community-driven, and rooted in care
At MUWCI, safeguarding is a core commitment and a shared responsibility. Aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the POCSO Act, we prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every student. Our safeguarding policies and practices are regularly reviewed and strengthened.

Student's safety first
The welfare of every student is our highest priority. All concerns are taken seriously, and safeguarding measures are in place to prevent harm, respond effectively, and promote a safe environment on and off campus.
Shared responsibility
Safeguarding is the responsibility of the whole community. Staff, students, and faculty are expected to uphold the Code of Conduct, report concerns promptly, and work together under the oversight of the Safeguarding Committee.
Confidentiality & transparency
Safeguarding records and information is managed with strict confidentiality. Decisions and actions are transparent, proportionate, and always focused on the best interests of the student, with accountability to leadership and external requirements.
Safeguarding measures
With rigorous safe-recruitment procedures, regular safeguarding training, preventive measures and clear reporting pathways, students can feel safe and protected at all times. MUWCI has a dedicated Safeguarding Committee to address any complaints related to student safety.
While the committee is the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and reports, UWC International also provides reporting mechanisms for anyone within the UWC community.
