Student Events & Activities
A school to inspire, challenge and build a community
Celebrating culture and collaboration
Enriching the campus experience with diverse events
Our vibrant calendar of events reflects the diverse interests and global backgrounds of our students. From showcasing artistic talents in our annual Art Exhibition and Theatre Season to fostering competitive spirit in the MUWCIlympics, each event is designed to enhance learning, cultural understanding, and community spirit. Our events, including the Triveni Mela and Regional Weeks, allow students to delve into a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, enhancing their global perspective and celebrating achievements across various disciplines.
Art Exhibition
A visual arts showcase
This is an annual event where the Visual Arts students at MUWCI showcase their artistic journey over two years. It is part of their Visual Arts assessment for the IB programme.
College Assembly Meetings
Student-led governance
The most noteworthy student-driven body on campus is the College Assembly (CA), composed of students and a few faculty members. Through the CA, you can directly make decisions that have a real-world impact on the entire community through initiatives, such as the austerity dinners and the waste management measures that help make the campus sustainable.
Anukaran
Celebrating young achievers from local schools
This is Akshara’s annual event in which children from neighbouring government schools are invited to the campus to showcase their learning and celebrate their achievements with our students.
Triveni Mela
Highlighting diverse skills from triveni activities
Annual event in which the students showcase their learning and accomplishments through the Triveni activities they were engaged in. This is done through presentations and performances.
Regionals Week
Exploring global cultures and perspectives
We have a rotation of six regional weeks spread over two years so that every individual gets to experience the diverse historical, social, cultural, and political diversity in action. The regions are South Asia, South East & East Asia, Middle East & North Africa, Africa, Americas, and Europe. These regional weeks are not about cultural affinities or similarities but rather about understanding the complexities in each of these geographical regions. The core purpose of the Regional Week is to cultivate a transnational awareness and solidarity by learning about different people and places. This is also a chance for all to challenge some of the nostalgic nationalism that comes from staying away from home for far too long.
MUWCIlympics
Fostering team spirit and athletic prowess
MUWCIlympics is a week-long, whole-school sports event held before the winter break in December, where students, faculty, and staff from different Wadas compete in various sports, including local games. The event, which includes individual and team sports, incorporates unique spirit points to foster a culture of support and appreciation for local recreational activities. Each Wada cheers on teammates with special chants, earning points for victories and demonstrating leadership, cooperation, and collaboration skills, helping participants discover their competitive side and enhancing teamwork abilities.
Theatre Season
Student-led theatre
A two-week-long annual event and perhaps the longest-standing tradition at MUWCI and also the most popular. A significant portion of the community (yes, including faculty and staff) comes together to put up different plays. All the plays are directed, performed and produced by the students. They create their own plays or work on adaptations of existing plays and demonstrate their performance and other production skills. This is also part of their assessment for IB.
Cultural Celebrations
Festivals and Exeats
Although the hill has its own life, we are keen for our students and faculty to learn about and from the rich cultures that surround us. On campus, you will participate in Ganesh Visarjan, Diwali, Eid, Santa Lucia, and other such celebrations. Moreover, we encourage our Indian students to host their friends over shorter breaks to give you a strong cultural immersion.
